Carini Townhomes joins to further the Downtown Bryan Association’s mission to create, cultivate, and showcase the commerce, culture and community by preserving the past and building a vibrant future.
Carini Townhomes is part of the original one square mile Bryan Townsite sold by its namesake, William Joel Bryan, nephew of Stephen F. Austin in 1860 for $3,200.
Carini (Translated “nice”) Townhomes proudly celebrates Bryan’s rich past. A strong and vibrant center of business and trade in the 19th century, spurred by the abundant cotton production of the river bottom. In the late 1800s, Italian immigrants from the impoverished region of Sicily begin to arrive in Texas in large groups. These were mostly farmers who settled in three areas of Texas with one of these being the Brazos Valley. Carini, Italy is a beautiful destination town just outside of Palermo, Sicily. Carini Townhomes, proudly honors this storied past.
